Aging Gently
Abandoned houses and buildings have always held a fascination for me. They seem to call out with voices of the past, and one can almost hear the laughter of children and the sound of farm animals in the now over-grown pastures. Buildings like these, frequently stand until gale force winds come along or new owners take over and bring in the wrecking ball to make way for new construction. Sometimes, over a period of many years, they progressively collapse until the wood rots back into the soil and only a few foundation stones bare witness to the fact that there they once stood.
